Welcome to the Taunton Cultural Council !

The Taunton Cultural Council (TCC) was established to promote the arts and help develop cultural programs throughout the Taunton community.  We are a council of volunteers who administers Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) grant funds and one of 329 local councils that serve all 351 Massachusetts cities and towns.

We accomplish these goals by:

  • Reviewing Grant Applications from individuals, schools, and arts organizations and awarding MCC grant funds to projects that provide a local public benefit.
  • Establishing Funding Priorities that aim to reach an underserved population, local artists, the broadest spectrum of our community and new applicants or projects - especially those that are experimental, pilot or innovative in nature - that are underrepresented in our community.

The members of the TCC are: Carol Traverse & Lois MacDonald, Co-Chairs; Mary Botelho, Treasurer; Nancy & Kevin Downing, Co-Secretaries, Mary Ann Botelho, Grant Coordinator; Carolyn Straub, Publicity Director; Donna Jardim, Membership Director; Gene Alger, Bligh MacDonald, Susan Winter-Clark, Janet Foley, Hazel Mack, and Roberta Shafer.

Stay engaged in the arts and in your community!
Participate in arts events happening in Taunton and publicize your own performances, exhibitions, and festivals through the following statewide calendars. The calendars are free and searchable by date, location, and discipline.

The Taunton Cultural Council will seek applications again in the fall of 2009. Information and forms are available online at www.massculturalcouncil.org or at City Hall, 15 Summer Street, Taunton, MA 02780 and are due October 15, 2009.
